How did you two meet?
We are college sweethearts; we met at Baylor University.
What is your special engagement story?
Well, with Brody’s profession of a college football coach, he is busy from the end of July through January, depending on bowl game situations. So, before the season starts, we go on an all out date night! He completely caught me off guard when he proposed since I thought we were going on our annual date night. It started out that my favorite play, Wicked, was in Houston when I was living there. Brody is from Houston, so he got us tickets, and then told me that he made reservations at Pappa’s Bros. Steakhouse. I went along with it since Wicked tickets were an early birthday present and dinner would end the night. After the play, we had “some time to kill” so he asked if I wanted to go to the Water Wall at the Galleria in Houston. I had never been, so I said “sure!” We got to the top of the stairs and he asked me to read something on the wall, so I did. When I turned back around he was on one knee and asked me to marry him!! I was SO shocked. Of course when we got back into the car, I wanted to call everyone. He told me to wait until we got to the restaurant so we could FaceTime. Again, I went along with it. We arrived at the restaurant and let the hostess know we were there. She grabbed our menus and lead us to these doors, and when she opens them ALL of our family is in there! SO SURPRISED! We had a very nice dinner with some of the most special people. He did so good, because I am also more of the planner and know all the details. He really got me good!
