Vintage Omni Barton Creek Wedding
As Austin wedding florists, we’ve designed for just about every kind of Texas weather. But M + N’s spring wedding at Omni Barton Creek still managed to blow us away. Not literally (we didn’t let those wild winds win), but the design itself was something special! Imagine a romantic, vintage-inspired celebration filled with lush, garden-style florals, soft pastel tones, and meaningful details. It was the kind of day that reminds us why we love what we do … transform a setting into something truly unforgettable (and always coming prepared with a couple solid back up plans!)
Madeleine envisioned a soft vintage aesthetic with a touch of whimsy. We leaned into that vision with sophisticated spring-hued blooms. Pastel snapdragons and garden roses, blush hydrangeas, pale blue delphinium, and raspberry Juliet roses. Each bouquet and centerpiece was designed to feel like it had been freshly picked from the garden.

Surrounded by rolling hills and scenic views, the Omni had everything they were looking for — an outdoor space for the hill country wedding ceremony, modern indoor space for the reception and LOTS of natural light! The perfect recipe for a lush vintage Omni Barton Creek wedding.

The morning started with the usual buzz — hair and makeup in one room, tuxes and coffee in another. Behind the scenes our team arrived with an abundance of loose blooms, mechanics, finished floral designs and classic decor pieces. M + N, high school sweethearts who first met in algebra class, joyfully moved through the morning surrounded by friends and family as the day began to take shape.

By the time we moved on to the ceremony setup, the torrential wind joined the party in full force. Gusts picked up so violently that, what should have been a straightforward day, quickly became a lesson in creative problem solving.

We started with the arch — normally a simple, elegant centerpiece — but the wind had other plans. Our team ended up building it on the ground first. Then added extra supports and tweaked the design to make it more aerodynamic before carefully lifting it into place. Still, the arch threatened to make a run for it, so our “arbor boys” spent the ENTIRE ceremony holding the structure inconspicuously in place. They were so sneaky that they blended into the background like floral superheroes.

The back-of-the-aisle florals? We had to lower & anchor them and still our team had to sit behind the wooden facade to keep it from taking flight.

Through it all, we tackled every challenge with focus, a good sense of humor, and a healthy respect for Mother Nature. You know she’s the real boss. Somehow, despite the windstorm, the flowers stayed put and the ceremony looked flawless.

By the time the ceremony began, the arch and all the arrangements were finally in place despite the morning’s wind drama. M + N exchanged vows beneath the floral-draped structure, framed by the natural beauty of the grounds. The soft color palette and vintage-inspired details we’d carefully layered throughout the ceremony felt effortless , complementing the wild, bumbling energy of the day.

Inside the pavilion, the romance carried on. A “something blue” dance floor set a playful tone, while colorful candlelit tables were layered with soft linens. Vintage-inspired place settings, and garden-fresh blooms in joyful spring shades pulled it all together. Every detail felt intentional, from the textures to the pops of color, creating a space that was lively yet elegant.

As the sun dipped below the hills, warm light spilled into the reception hall, bouncing off the wall of windows. The glow highlighted the table designs, giving the space an almost ethereal quality. One of those moments when all the planning, prep, and little adjustments finally took shape.

One of our favorite touches was their incredible vintage wedding cake! A multi-tiered masterpiece complete with detailed piping and custom toppers featuring the bride, groom, and the entire wedding party! It was playful, personal, and totally unforgettable.
“I am the cake lover of all cake lovers! After starting my business, I knew our wedding cake had to be over the top, vintage-inspired goodness. 2Tarts Bakery in New Braunfels hit it out of the park with lots of tiers, a miniature staircase and columns!” — M
As the evening wound down, the space felt alive with joy, the clink of champagne glasses, and the bump of the music as guests danced beneath the open beams. It was the kind of night that felt suspended in time. The perfect vintage Omni Barton Creek Wedding.
At the end of the evening, our team packed up the blooms for donation, tidied the space, and looked back on a day full of challenges — from gusting winds to creative problem-solving — that we made happen. As Austin wedding florists, it was a reminder of why we love this work: helping couples celebrate their day, no matter what mother nature throws our way.
“Our planner highly recommended you and then we had such a fabulous consultation! From beginning to end, we could not be happier with the service and attention to detail you provided — honestly, your team went above and beyond for us with the unforeseen wind that day. That was so huge! We watch our video back and see you guys holding down the arrangements and it truly brings us to tears. The flowers could not have been more perfect. THANK YOU!!” — M
Madeleine and Nathan brought such intentionality to their day, blending nostalgia with elegance in a way that felt entirely fresh. It was an honor to bring their floral vision to life and be part of such a joyful celebration. If you’re planning your own Austin wedding and want to incorporate thoughtful, story-driven, floral design to your day let’s dream it up together!
